BACKGROUND:

The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of IL Benevolent Fund, Incorporated (MWPHGLILBF) was established in 2010 in Chicago, IL.

The membership of the MWPHGLILBF consists of the financial members of the warranted organizations such as the Masonic Lodges and Order of the Eastern Star Chapters that fall under the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Illinois (established in 1867).

MISSION:

The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of IL Benevolent Fund, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization established to meet the needs of our communities through the relief of the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged; the advancement of education; preventing cruelty to children via several outreach programs. This is achieved through facilitating and consolidating the charitable works of member organizations; promoting and administering Illinois Child Identification program (IL CHIP), Feeding the Needy, School Supplies Drive, Scholarships and educational assistance to deserving students.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

The corporate functions are conducted and managed by the MWPHGLILBF Board of Directors. The Executive Members of the Board of Directors include the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 3 Directors. In addition, there are 13 Directors who are appointed by the 2 member organizations to serve terms of 3 years and 2 Directors who are elected by the general assembly membership.

ACTIVITIES:

The MWPHGLILBF sponsors, coordinates, and supports activities that promote the achievement of the mission and objectives of the Benevolent Fund to include, but not limited to:

* Scholarship and educational assistance grants to qualified/deserving Illinois high school students and     returning college students committed to pursuing a college education.

* Providing School Supplies

* Sponsoring Annual College Readiness and Scholarship Fair

* Sponsoring Annual ACT Classes

* Feeding the Needy during the Holiday Season

* Sponsoring Annual Community Blood and Health Drives

* Disaster Relief and Benevolence
