Mission and Purpose

Its purpose is to capture the journey of Prince Hall Masons and display their accomplishments to further promote the tenets of our organization which are brotherly love, relief and truth. In printing these journeys we also recognize these achievements by telling the story which will help to inspire others to remain consistent with the actions heretofore displayed and to perform greater works.

Freemasonry, itself, is a progressive science that helps to improve upon the faculties of man in many different ways and the Prince Hall Masonic Journal is committed to providing new examples of this with every edition. As such, when future generations view past editions they should see progress and improvement and this is what we are dedicated to recording.

In addition to serving as a historical reference, the journal is also set to capture current events of the day across the entire state of Illinois as was done in the past with previous editors. The example they set is being used at this time to extend this arm of communications not only across the great state of Illinois but across the country and across the world. As such, our team has been organized with individuals (see our staff page) who possess a firm commitment to this objective and are completely dedicated to continuing the great trend set by those who have come before them.
